Titanium Grade 5 is the most common alpha-beta titanium alloy and it has a composition of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium.
Socket head cap screws (SHCS) has the properties of high-strength, lightweight fasteners and they are ideal for use in precision components. Grade 5 titanium SHCS are the best solution for environments, which need high tensile strength, low weight and excellent corrosion resistance.

The Manufacturing Process of Titanium Grade 5 Socket Head Cap Screw
· Raw Material Selection: Select high-quality Ti-6Al-4V round bars with the tracebility number; adopt strict inspections for chemical composition and structural defects
· Cutting and Blanking: Precision-cutting for the titanium bars to the required lengths with thorough cleaning and oxide removal.
· Warm Heading: Preheating for the blanks to 300–400°C in order to forge the socket head.
· Thread Formation: To form threads by thread rolling or thread cutting.
· Heat Treatment: Achieve solution treatment and aging to achieve maximum tensile strength.
· Surface Treatment: Degreasing, pickling and anodizing for the fasteners, Micro-Arc Oxidation.
· Secondary Machining: Deburr the socket, chamfer the thread start, and trim the bolt to its final precision length.
· Quality Control: Conduct rigorous dimensional checks, mechanical property testing, Non-Destructive Testing , and laser marking for traceability.
· Cleaning and Packaging: keep a final ultrasonic cleaning, then vacuum-seal the products in protective packaging.
