Grade 2 hex head titanium screw is a commercially pure titanium fastener. It features its light weight, exceptional corrosion resistance, and good mechanical strength. It makes it ideal for high-performance applications.
It's a hexagonal external head fastener and it is made of pure titanium or titanium alloy, with metric or inch thread, used for fastening and assembly. They are most used in marine, chemical equipment, aerospace, medical device, desalination, outdoor machinery.

Manufacturing Process about Grade 2 Hex Head Titanium Screw
- Raw Material Selection & Inspection: Material: CP Titanium, titanium round bars or wires. Inspection: Spectroscopic analysis, ultrasonic testing, dimensional check.
- Cutting (Blank Preparation): High-speed sawing or shearing into fixed-length blanks; end face deburred and squared.
- Cold Heading (Hex Head Forming): 1–2 die cold header, room-temperature high-pressure plastic deformation to form hex head .
- Thread Rolling: Cold thread rolling with two or three-die roller; It has higher tensile strength, smooth surface, better fatigue life; standards: metric, UNC, UNF, custom.
- Heat Treatment : Adopt stress relief or vacuum annealing to remove residual stress, stabilize dimensions and prevent oxidation embrittlement.
- Surface Finishing & Protection: Descaling by pickling or electrolytic polishing; options: passivation, anodizing, PTFE coating, silver plating.
- Quality Control: inspection for dimension, mechanization, NDT and surface defects.
- Cleaning & Packaging: Ultrasonic cleaning, hot air or vacuum drying; packaging: bulk or vacuum-sealed.
Grades Selection
- Commercial Pure Titanium: Gr1/Gr2. Good corrosion resistance, lower strength, low cost. For non-structural parts.
- Titanium Alloy: Gr5, The most common; high strength, lightweight. For load-bearing applications.
- Other Grades: Gr7 , Gr9 and Gr12 are for special corrosion & high strength needs
