FAQ about Gr4 titanium sheet
Questions for product use
Is Gr4 titanium weldable?
Yes. It welds well via GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), or laser welding. Use pure titanium filler metal (Gr4) and shield with argon to prevent oxidation.
How to process Gr4 sheet?
Bending: Good formability; minimum bend radius ~1.5× thickness (annealed)
Machining: Use slow speeds, sharp tools, and coolant (titanium is sticky)
Surface treatment: Pickling (remove oxide), anodizing (corrosion resistance/color), polishing
How to inspect Gr4 titanium sheet?
Chemical analysis: XRF or wet chemistry (verify composition)
Mechanical testing: Tensile, yield, elongation (ASTM E8)
Surface inspection: No cracks, pits, or contamination
Dimensional check: Thickness, width, length tolerance
What's the corrosion resistance of Gr4?
