Gr3 Titanium Plate

Gr3 is unalloyed commercially pure titanium (CP Ti), sitting between Gr2 and Gr4 in strength. It has higher oxygen & iron content than Gr1/Gr2, bringing higher strength while retaining good ductility, weldability and excellent corrosion resistance.

Grade 3 titanium (UNS R50550) is commercially pure titanium, sitting between Gr2 and Gr4 in strength. It has higher tensile strength than Gr2, better ductility and formability than Gr4, excellent corrosion resistance, low density, non-magnetic property.

What is the difference between Gr2 and Gr3 Titanium Plate?

Gr3 has higher oxygen and iron content than Gr2, so it has higher tensile & yield strength, but slightly lower ductility and formability.

• Gr2: most common CP Ti, good balance of strength and forming
• Gr3: selected when slightly higher mechanical strength is needed while keeping good corrosion resistance
