Gr1 titanium plate is a medium & heavy gauge titanium plate made of Grade 1 commercially pure titanium, with a standard thickness of 5mm and above. It is manufactured via hot rolling process, and is widely used in scenarios requiring Superior corrosion resistance in seawater, chloride environments and oxidizing acids. It has best ductility & cold formability of all CP titanium grades, easy bending, deep drawing. It features Non-magnetic , biocompatible and Lower strength than Gr2, Gr3, Gr4.

FAQ About Gr1 Titanium Plate
What's the difference between Gr1, Gr2, Gr3 titanium plate?
All are commercially pure titanium, differing mainly in oxygen & iron content, which controls strength:
- Gr1: Lowest O & Fe, best ductility & cold formability, lowest tensile strength
- Gr2: Most common CP Ti, balanced strength and formability
- Gr3: Higher O & Fe, higher strength, less ductile than Gr1 & Gr2
Can Gr1 titanium plate be welded?
A10: Yes. TIG / GTAW is recommended. Must shield weld zone with argon to prevent oxygen/nitrogen contamination. Welded joint still retains good corrosion resistance.
How to distinguish Gr1 and Gr2 titanium plate visually?
Cannot tell by appearance. Must rely on material test certificate (MTC / EN 10204 3.1), chemical or PMI testing.
