Products Description
Grade 5 titanium alloy forging disc is a circular forged component manufactured from αβ titanium alloy, with titanium as the matrix. It typically contains 5.5–6.75 wt% aluminum (Al) and 3.5–4.5 wt% vanadium (V). This alloy is widely recognized as the most commonly used titanium alloy in industrial and engineering applications due to its excellent comprehensive properties.
The forging discs are manufactured by advanced plastic forming processes, including hot forging, open-die forging, closed-die forging, and other precision forging methods. These manufacturing techniques ensure refined internal microstructure, uniform mechanical properties, high density, and excellent structural integrity of the final product.
As a key structural component, Grade 5 titanium alloy forging discs has outstanding characteristics like high specific strength, excellent corrosion resistance, good fatigue resistance, and reliable performance at medium temperatures. They are widely applied in highdemand fields including aerospace, aviation, petrochemical engineering, marine engineering, and high-performance mechanical equipment.
ELI Grade 5 has lower O (≤0.13%), N, C, and H content, with better lowtemperature toughness and fracture toughness. It is suitable for high-safety applications such as aerospace and medical critical parts.

Quality Inspection Requirements
Non-Destructive Testing: Ultrasonic Testing , Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing .
Chemical Analysis: PMI to verify Al/V content and gap elements.
Mechanical Testing: Tensile, Charpy impact, hardness tests on coupons.
Documentation: EN 10204 3.1 certificate, heat treatment records, dimensional report.
Forging processes for Grade 5 Titanium Alloy Forging Disc
Heating: Heating temperature is 955–1010 °C (below β-transus), with inert gas protection to avoid oxidation.
Forging method: Open-die forging, closed-die forging, upset forging, etc.; forging ratio is generally 1.2–1.5.
Forging temperature control: Final forging temperature ≥750 °C to prevent cracking caused by low-temperature deformation.
Post-forging treatment: Timely removal of surface oxide layer, followed by annealing or solution aging heat treatment.
