Products Description
A titanium alloy forged disc is a high-performance circular component and it manufactured from premium titanium alloys by precision forging. This process refines the internal grain structure, delivering superior strength, light weight, and corrosion resistance for critical applications.
Titanium alloy forged discs are core components for aerospace engines, energy turbines, and high-end industrial equipment. Their manufacturing process centers on strict temperature control, precise deformation management, and microstructure optimization, ensuring high strength, fatigue resistance, and dimensional stability.

Manufacturing Process about Titanium Alloy Forged Disc
1. Material Selection & Billet Preparation
Use triple vacuum arc remelting certified titanium alloy ingots; cut into cylindrical billets, conduct surface treatment and ultrasonic testing to ensure qualification.
2. Preheating
Heat titanium alloys in electric resistance or vacuum furnaces; temperature varies by alloy , holding time 1–2 hours per 100 mm of billet thickness.
3. Forging
Two main methods: Open-Die Forging and Closed-Die Forging .
4. Post-Forging Heat Treatment
Solution annealing + aging; vacuum heat treatment for high-performance aerospace discs.
5. CNC Machining
Rough machining; finish machining with 5-axis CNC machines.
6. Surface Treatment
Shot peening, anodizing, polishing.
7. Quality Inspection
100% inspection including dimensional verification, mechanical testing, microstructure analysis, and repeated NDT.

The main application about Titanium Alloy Forged Disc

Aerospace:
Jet engine compressor/turbine discs, helicopter rotor hubs.

Industrial:
High-pressure reactor components, heat exchanger plates, and corrosion-resistant flanges.

Energy:
Hydrogen storage system parts (anti-hydrogen embrittlement).

Medical:
Implant blanks (e.g., hip joint discs) due to biocompatibility.
the common grades and their applications
Ti-6Al-4V (Gr5/TC4): Industry standard; tensile strength ≥930 MPa; for aerospace engine discs, medical parts, and general industrial components (≤400°C).
Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-6Mo: High-temperature grade; creep-resistant up to 550°C; for gas turbine hot-section discs.
Ti-5Al-2.5Sn (Gr6): Weldable, moderate strength; for lightweight structural discs in aerospace.
Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al (β-alloy): High strength, good formability; for lightweight aerospace rotating parts.

the advantages over steel/aluminum discs
Lightweight: 40% lighter than steel; reduces rotational inertia and fuel consumption.
High strength at temperature: Maintains strength up to 400–550°C (vs. aluminum ≤200°C).
Corrosion resistance: Resists oxidation, salt spray, and acid corrosion (no coating needed for most environments).
Long fatigue life: Critical for high-speed rotating components.
