Pure Titanium Flange

Pure titanium flange is critical piping components made from pure titanium, mainly include grade 1 and grade 2,designed to connect pipes,valves,pumps and other equipment in systems.It is according to ASTM B381 standard.The common types are:weld neck flanges;slip-on flangers;blind flanges;threaded flanges;tocket weld flanges.

Pure titanium flanges are detachable connecting components made from unalloyed titanium (CP Ti, Ti content ≥99%), used to join pipes, pipes to equipment, or valves. They work with bolts, nuts, and gaskets: tightening bolts compresses the gasket to seal the interface, preventing media leakage, and enabling easy maintenance/disassembly.

• Gr1 (TA1): ≥99.5% Ti; highest purity, excellent ductility, softest.
• Gr2 (TA2): ≥99.0% Ti; most widely used, balanced strength/formability.
• Gr3/Gr4: Higher strength, less common for flanges.
• Key advantage: Natural TiO₂ passive film gives exceptional corrosion resistance.

5,Medical & Semiconductor:it can be used in medical gas lines,vacuum systems and semiconductor etching equipment.

Process: Raw titanium ingot → Forging → Heat treatment (annealing) → Machining (CNC turning/milling for sealing face, bolt holes) → Surface treatment (pickling, degreasing) → Quality inspection (dimension check, NDT, chemical composition test, pressure test).

• Avoid contact with carbon steel during storage/installation to prevent iron contamination that damages the passive film.
• Use compatible gaskets (PTFE, graphite, metal spiral wound, no asbestos).
• Control welding parameters strictly (argon shielding for TIG welding) to prevent oxidation and embrittlement.
• Clean the flange face thoroughly before assembly to remove grease, debris, or rust.
