Introduction of Titanium Grade9 Foil

Grade 9 foil is ultra-thin strip of Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy, often called "half 6Al-4V" - lighter and stronger than commercially pure titanium foil, with excellent formability.

 

It has good oxidation resistance up to ~300–350°C continuously.

Short‑term use to ~600°C is possible but depends on environment. It is non‑magnetic, useful for sensors and medical imaging equipment. It is widely used in medical devices and surgical instruments.

A: Stronger than CP Ti Grade 2

Q:Is Grade 9 foil weldable?

A:Yes. It welds well by TIG, laser, EBW.Inert shielding is required to prevent oxidation/hydrogen pickup.

Q: Can it be deep drawn / stamped / rolled / formed?

A:Yes - excellent cold formability for a high-strength titanium alloy.Intermediate annealing may be needed for severe forming.
