Grade 23 is the Extra Low Interstitial (ELI) variant of Gr5. With strictly limited oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen, and iron, it gains much higher ductility, fracture toughness, and biocompatibility compared to standard Grade 5.It becomes the top choice for life-critical medical implants and cryogenic and aerospace components. It is typically supplied annealed for maximum toughness.

Manufacturing & Processing of Gr23 Titanium Wires
Double Vacuum Arc Remelting
Double VAR process is adopted to precisely control interstitial elements and ensure chemical composition uniformity.
Hot Working + Cold Drawing
Use hot working and multi-pass cold drawing to achieve the final specified diameter and apply with intermediate stress-relief annealing between drawing passes to eliminate internal stress.


Final Heat Treatment & Cleaning
Final mill annealing to optimize material ductility and toughness.
Strict surface cleaning procedures implemented to prevent hydrogen absorption and surface contamination.

Everything You Need to Know
Q: What tempers are available?
A: Annealed (M): Soft, ductile, good for forming.
Cold worked (Y): Higher strength, lower ductility.
Hot rolled (R): Intermediate properties.
Q: What are the packaging and shipping requirements?
A: Usually packed on plastic or metal spools, with anticorrosion paper and wooden crates for bulk shipments to prevent damage during transport.
Q:Can Gr23 wire be welded?
A:Yes, it has good weldability. Use Ti6Al4V ELI filler wire and inert gas shielding (argon) to avoid contamination and embrittlement.
