Titanium Grade7 is a commercially pure titanium alloy (CP-Ti) with 0.12–0.25% palladium (Pd) added, designed for extreme corrosion resistance while retaining Grade2's mechanical properties. It is also known as TA9 (China). Titanium Grade7 is a commercially pure α-titanium alloy with palladium addition to boost corrosion resistance.

How does Gr7 differ from Gr2?
- Corrosion Resistance: Gr7 is 70% more resistant in 90°C sodium hypochlorite and lasts 2× longer than Gr2.
- Crevice Corrosion: Gr7 withstands >50,000 ppm Cl⁻ (seawater/brine); Gr2 fails rapidly.
- Cost: Gr7 is more expensive due to palladium.
- Strength: Similar tensile/yield strength; Gr7 has better high-temperature stability.

How to weld Grade7?
Process: GTAW (TIG) preferred; use ERTi-7 filler.
Shielding: Argon purity >99.999%, dew point ≤-50°C; purge flow ≥25 CFH.
Protection: Fully shield weld zone to avoid O/N/H contamination.
