Grade 7 is a palladium-alloyed α-titanium bar designed for extreme corrosion resistance in aggressive chemical, marine, and highchloride environments. It retains the good mechanical and fabrication properties of pure titanium. It delivers far better resistance to reducing acids, chlorides, crevice, and pitting corrosion. Gr7 titanium bars are the perfect choice for critical components in severe corrosion where stainless steel or pure titanium fails.

Selection Guide for Titanium Grades

 

vs. Gr2: Gr7 has 10–100× lower corrosion rate in reducing acids and better crevice corrosion resistance.

vs. Gr12: Gr7 excels in wet chlorine or hypochlorite; Gr12 is better for hightemperature chloride environments.

vs. Gr5: Superior corrosion resistance; lower strength, better weldability

Gr7: Pd acts as a cathodic modifier, lowering hydrogen overpotential and accelerating repassivation of TiO₂ films in lowoxygen or reducing environments. This resists crevice, pitting, and general corrosion where Gr2 fails.

Continuous: –50°C to 400°C

Intermittent: Up to 540°C
