Grade 1 is the base grade of commercially pure titanium with the highest purity, best plasticity and optimal formability, same as the national standard TA1. It features low strength, high plasticity, excellent corrosion resistance and weldability as its core characteristics. Grade 1 is the best performing pure titanium material for precision forming, corrosion resistance and lightweight applications.

IV. Five Core Characteristics


1. Excellent Cold Formability
It has the superior plasticity among commercially pure titanium grades, and can withstand deep drawing, bending, spinning and stamping for complex components with mild work hardening.Grade 1 is suitable for ultra-thin titanium plates, precision shells and special-shaped parts.


2. Superior Corrosion Resistance
A dense TiO₂ protective film is naturally formed on the surface to make it remain stable in seawater, chlorides, nitric acid, organic acids and humid atmosphere. Its corrosion resistance is better than conventional stainless steel, with an annual corrosion rate of less than 0.001 mm.


3. Excellent Weldability
Gr 1 can be welded by gas tungsten arc welding, plasma welding and electron beam welding. It can still maintain good plasticity and corrosion resistance after welding without complex heat treatment. For this reason, it is the preferred material for welded structural parts.
4. High Biocompatibility
Non-toxic, non-sensitizing and non-magnetic, it is compatible with human tissues and body fluids, meeting the safety requirements for medical implants and food contact grade applications.


5. Lightweight and Stability
It features low density, reasonable specific strength, no deformation or rust during long-term use and a long service life, achieving a better comprehensive cost performance.
